Visit California International Staff FAM (Dec 8-10)

L.A. Tourism hosted a December FAM for Visit California’s international staff. Visit California brought in the newest members of their international team to train them on Los Angeles’s brand and products. The attendees represented several different departments (Travel Trade, PR and Media) as well as a diverse mix of countries (China, Japan, South Korea and Australia). Their itinerary included visits and activities across Los Angeles. L.A. Tourism would like to thank the following members for their involvement: L.A. Hotel, the GRAMMY Museum, The Farm of Beverly Hills at L.A. LIVE, Warner Bros VIP Studio Tour, the Original Farmers Market, Hotel Erwin, The Lobster and Santa Monica Place. 

INTERNATIONAL TRAVEL TRADE FAMS, TRADE SHOWS & EVENTS

Visit California/Air Tahiti Nui FAM (Dec. 1-5)

In partnership with Visit California and Air Tahiti Nui, L.A. Tourism hosted a group of seven product managers who will promote Los Angeles as a destination for French travelers. The group explored Downtown L.A., Beverly Hills, Hollywood and Santa Monica and experienced museums and the newest attractions as well as local hotels. Air Tahiti Nui offers nonstop flights from Los Angeles to Tahiti. 

COMMUNICATIONS

Incheon Airport Media FAM (Dec. 16)

On Dec. 16, L.A. Tourism partnered with Incheon Airport to host 12 members of the Korean media. Media outlets included The Dong-a Ilbo, The Financial News, The Hankook-ilbo, Newsis, The Kyeonggi Ilbo and MBC. Media members visited Los Angeles to cover the ceremony at LAX for Incheon Airport winning 2014’s “Best Airport” award from Global Traveler Magazine. The journalists enjoyed a day of sightseeing in L.A., with an itinerary that included Grand Central Market, Natural History Museum and Griffith Observatory.

INTERNATIONAL

The Sunday Times Travel Magazine and The Independent
L.A. Tourism hosted U.K. journalist Julia Buckley, whose work regularly appears in the Sunday Times Travel Magazine and the Independent. Julia spent 48 hours in Downtown L.A., staying at Ace Hotel and experiencing the sights, excitement and flavors of the city.

WestJet Up! Magazine
From Dec. 14-18, L.A. Tourism hosted Canadian freelance writer Jody Robbins, who was researching Koreatown for upcoming stories in WestJet’s Up! magazine and Globe + Mail. Her stay included dining experiences in Downtown, an exploration of Korean spas and overnight accommodations at Koreatown’s The Line and Hotel Normandie.
