Mel's Drive-In - Hollywood

Overview

Ron Howard, Richard Dreyfus, Harrison Ford and a cast of other young hopefuls made this 50s-style diner famous in the 1973 classic film “American Graffiti.” Though the original closed shortly after filming, the restaurant made a comeback in 1985 when Mel’s son recreated the legendary spot at choice locations in Los Angeles and San Francisco. Still today, the neon signs glows well into the night, the tabletop jukeboxes play the greatest yesteryear tunes, and retro-chic servers deliver burgers and shakes with a smile. The “Celebrity Bar” at the Hollywood location makes a mean mohito and flirtini.
