Los Angeles Unveils insideLA Program, Offering Visitors 10 Ways to Explore the City During Rainy Days

LOS ANGELES, Calif. (January 13, 2016) – Despite being known for its typically sunny days, Los Angeles is a dynamic city to visit in all kinds of weather. To help those visiting the City of Angels stay dry during the wet winter season, Discover Los Angeles has curated a list of the top 101 indoor activities which highlights the destination’s endless entertainment options ranging from culture and dining to sports and shopping. From spectacular concerts at world-renowned venues and award-winning restaurants to fast-paced sports games inside the legendary STAPLES Center and high-to-low budget shopping, there are a plethora of exciting activities for visitors to enjoy this winter.

Highlights include:

January – February: Award Shows and Viewing Parties
Star-struck visitors have the chance to experience L.A. in full throes of awards season, as the city plays host to Golden Globes this week, the Grammy Awards on February 15 and the Academy Awards on February 28.

The Grammy Awards show and after-party are closed to the public, but visitors can still join in the fun by purchasing tickets to viewing parties to watch award shows unfold in real time on a big screen. Popular viewing parties include Hollywood’s Biggest Night at the historic Million Dollar Theatre, mar’sel at the Terranea Resort in Rancho Palos Verdes overlooking the Pacific Ocean, and the annual “Night of 100 Stars” party at the Beverly Hilton Hotel.

February – March: L.A. Performs Offers 2-for-1 Performance Packages
For the first time, Discover Los Angeles launches L.A. Performs, a program where visitors can save over $1,350 on buy-one-get-one-free tickets to 14 top performing arts companies when they purchase a two-night hotel stay.

Participating performing arts centers include The Pasadena Playhouse (Fly by Trey Ellis and Ricardo Khan), Los Angeles Ballet (Don Quixote) and Los Angeles Opera (The Magic Flute).

Now – April: Sports Events with Lakers, Clippers and Kings
Located in Downtown L.A., the world-famous STAPLES Center at L.A. Live serves as home to the Los Angeles Kings, Los Angeles Lakers and Los Angeles Clippers.
