Italian fashion blogger and model, Mariano Di Vaio, shared his L.A. story during a recent trip to the City of Angels. In 2012, Di Vaio started www.mdvstyle.com, the first Italian fashion blog focusing on men's style and street culture. Since then, he's become one of the most prominent fashion bloggers in the world, with over four million followers on Instagram. Accompanied by L.A.-based photographer, Kyle Huber, Mariano visited some of the city’s top attractions and sites.
The Griffith Observatory
No visit to L.A. is complete without stopping by The Griffith Observatory in Griffith Park. Known as one of L.A.’s greatest cultural attractions, the Observatory offers spectacular views from Downtown to the Pacific Ocean.
The Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA)
Mariano spent an afternoon exploring unique exhibits at The Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA), home of the largest art collection in the West. Exhibits such as Jesús Rafael Soto’s Penetrable and Chris Burden's Urban Lights served as excellent backdrops for a photoshoot.
Walt Disney Concert Hall
Mariano also checked out the Walt Disney Concert Hall, home of the Los Angeles Philharmonic and the Los Angeles Master Chorale. Designed by Pritzker Prize-winning architect Frank Gehry, with acoustics by Yasuhisa Toyota, Walt Disney Concert Hall has received worldwide critical acclaim and praise from concertgoers for its stunning architecture and extraordinary sound.
Bronson Canyon
Located in the southwest section of Griffith Park, Bronson Canyon has been a popular location for generations of filmmakers who make good use of its unique setting. Mariano explored the “Bronson Cave”, best known as the mouth of the Batcave from the 1960's Batman TV series.
Malibu Beach
With 21 miles of coastline, Malibu is one of the best places in L.A. to experience an endless summer. Mariano enjoyed an afternoon of fun in the sun and caught a gorgeous sunset.
L.A. from up above
Mariano got a birds-eye-view of the City of Angels during a helicopter ride with @copterpilot. "We started at sunset from an airport close to the sea for an hour and we enjoyed those pink sunsets that can be seen only in California," said Di Vaio.
