The summer travel season is at its peak, and while millions of visitors from around the world and across the country are enjoying L.A.’s gorgeous beaches, attractions and summer outdoor entertainment, we at LATCB are hard at work preparing for our second Market Outlook Forum.

I urge you to register now for the LATCB Market Outlook Forum. It is the strategic forecasting conference for any business interested in capitalizing on L.A.’s record tourism growth. Last year, Los Angeles welcomed a record 42.2 million visitors, making it one of the most-visited destinations in the U.S., and we are on track to grow to 50 million visitors by 2020. This event is one of the most valuable LATCB member opportunities and will help you prepare to welcome them, and benefit from the tremendous growth in tourism.

At the event, you will learn about the latest trends from industry experts, get the latest L.A. visitation forecasts, hear lively panel discussions on hot topics affecting our industry, get the first look at LATCB’s sales and marketing plans for next year, and learn how to participate in LATCB activities to maximize the value of your membership.

In addition, this is the first opportunity to receive LATCB’s proprietary 2014 Marketing and Planning Resource Book, which is filled with exclusive L.A. market analysis, visitor profiles, spending habits and other market information that will help you make strategic business decisions. Our inaugural event last year sold out, and we expect it to again this year. Read more about the Market Outlook Forum in the What’s Coming section.

Speaking of what's coming, we recently shared the terrific news that the city approved a $10 million makeover for the Los Angeles Convention Center (LACC), and work is set to begin next month. The year-long project will provide a fresh new look and feel to the facility, enhance the customer experience, help attract new shows, and help L.A. stay competitive. The work is also being carefully planned around shows and events in the building to avoid disruption. Read more about it in the News & Notes Section.

The planned changes inside the Convention Center complement the rapid and wonderful changes taking place outside the Center, including spectacular new hotels, headline grabbing restaurants, and countless new shopping and cultural offerings. Every aspect of Downtown Los Angeles is on the move and it’s fueling L.A.’s surging popularity both as a leisure and a meetings and conventions destination.

Another mark of L.A.’s skyrocketing reputation is the 2014 dineL.A. Summer Restaurant Week, which starts Monday, July 14. With more than 360 eateries to choose from, the 2014 Summer Restaurant Week is the biggest ever and the largest restaurant week in the U.S., showcasing Los Angeles as one of America’s greatest dining destinations. The full list of participating restaurant has been posted, and this year, we have added two additional weekend days to explore some of the best cuisine in the world. Read more about dineL.A. Summer Restaurant Week in the News & Notes Section.

These are just a few of the many updates on LATCB and our industry we have for you this month. As always, LATCB will be here, working on behalf of all of our members and partners to keep the world coming to Los Angeles.

Best wishes,
