There’s always a palpable buzz of excitement across Los Angeles this time of year, one that can only be “produced” in the entertainment capital of the world. The heart of Awards Season is here; L.A.’s signature glitz and glamour are put on full display as spotlights shine bright on the world’s biggest stars spanning film, TV and music. It’s the perfect time for those dazzled by the entertainment industry to visit the City of Angeles and immerse themselves in experiences fit for Hollywood’s elite. 

And speaking of buzz, our dineL.A. team created a bit of their own last month for the wildly popular Winter Restaurant Week. I’m thrilled to report the biannual event celebrating the city’s vibrant culinary scene was once again a great success. But most importantly, the event generated a donation of $13,651 to The Midnight Mission, providing critical funds for food and aid to those experiencing homelessness throughout L.A. County. Thank you to all our restaurant partners that participated in the program.

Abroad, L.A. Tourism announced it has established a presence in the key region of India with representation by Sartha Global Marketing. India is the second fastest growing market for outbound travel and we look forward to welcoming more Indian travelers to L.A. which will help us achieve our goal of reaching 50 million visitors by 2020.

Here at home, we’re putting the finishing touches on our new advertising campaign which is set to launch in key domestic markets at the end of this month. I look forward to sharing it with you all once it’s ready to premiere.

2016 is off to the races and it’s already looking to be another fantastic year for L.A.’s tourism industry.
