As 2015 draws to an end, I would like to toast what has been a tremendously successful year for L.A.’s tourism industry. We kicked off the year with history once again as we announced 44 million visitors, a record 28.1 million hotel room nights sold, highest RevPar and occupancy rate, and nearly $20 billion in visitor spending.

These achievements, combined with scores of new developments and a never-ending stream of positive media coverage, elevated The City of Angels to new heights as a leading global tourist destination.  "

L.A. Tourism has been working diligently this past month to ensure a strong finish while being firmly positioned for what we hope will be a record-breaking 2016. Our annual fall program, LA Museum Season, generated more than 55,000 hotel room-night sales amounting to $10.6 million in gross bookings. Many thanks to our museum partners who generously participated in the program.

We also announced the return of our incredibly popular dineL.A. Winter Restaurant Week event, taking place January 18-31, 2016. This winter, we are proud to support a fantastic local charity, The Midnight Mission, a vital non-profit organization that provides food, shelter, and aid to those in need, donating $1 for each seated reservation booked through our website.

These are just a few of the many updates on L.A. Tourism and our industry that we’re sharing with you in this month’s newsletter.

And please accept my sincerest thanks for your continued support of L.A.’s tourism industry and, in turn, the people, businesses and communities that rely on it as an engine of prosperity. Wishing you and yours the very best for the holiday season and every success in the coming year.

Happy Holidays,
