Unique Los Angeles Boardrooms
Updated on November 18, 2014
There’s a time and a place for meetings in more traditional settings, but if you are traveling to Los Angeles for business, why not try something a little different? After all, an unusual setting can go a long way in promoting “out of the box” thinking on the part of attendees. And if ideas are free flowing, then the bottom line is bound to benefit.
The Mafia Room at O Hotel Los Angeles
This small, boutique-style hotel in the heart of Downtown Los Angeles has one dedicated, boardroom-style meeting space—the “Mafia Room.” The conference tables seat up to 16 guests, and the room is filled with abstract portraits of infamous gangsters like Al Capone. Included in the cost are WiFi and bottled water. Catering from Bar | Kitchen downstairs is available.

The War Room at Doubletree by Hilton Los Angeles Downtown
Located within four blocks of the Los Angeles Superior Court, Stanley Mosk Courthouse, United States Bankruptcy Court, Hall of Justice, Federal Court, United States District Court, and District Court of Appeal, the Doubletree by Hilton Los Angeles Downtown is the ideal home base for Los Angeles trial teams. The state-of-the-art War Room includes amenities such as large, WiFi-enabled conference room; a 60-inch, touch-screen monitor interfaced with conference table; media hub; glass door with opaque privacy feature; and a private witness interview lounge.
The Library at Montage Beverly Hills
Located off of Parq Bar on the lobby level, the Library room is a versatile meeting space that is, just as the name suggests, a library. In a boardroom configuration, it seats 16, and is styled after a gentleman’s study, appointed with an oil painting over the fireplace and a collection of antique books. A small alcove makes a great spot to set up coffee or tea. The outdoor breakout space opens onto the beautiful Beverly Canon Gardens.

Mile High at Custom Hotel
Reach a 12-story cruising altitude at this playfully themed room on the top floor of the LAX-adjacent Custom Hotel. Spacious lounge-style seating for 10 provides a comfortable break space, and vintage airline art fits the Jet Age design of this boutique property. Appropriately, the window has views of the runways, and you can see all the way to downtown and Hollywood on clear days. The space’s flat screen TV can double as a projector, and a built-in bar accommodates Continental breakfasts and/or beverage service. There are two full bathrooms as well.

Focus Room at W Hollywood
While the W Hollywood certainly has more than its share of trendy lounges and nightlife hot spots, its 10-person, conference-capacity Focus Room is all business. That’s not to say there aren’t sophisticated elements. Depending on your technology needs, blackout curtains can keep distractions to a minimum for A/V presentations, or can be opened up to let in natural light for a more open, airy meetings. But best of all, the breakout space is a balcony with only-in-Hollywood views of the Walk of Fame and the historic Broadway building.

The Director's Room at Beverly Garland Hotel
Now called the Director's Room (formerly the Boardroom), this 14-person-capacity space was completely renovated, along with the rest of the hotel’s meeting space, in late 2011. Located off of Warren's Blackboard restaurant, which the late actress and hotel namesake Beverly Garland (My Three Sons) christened in honor of her granddaughter. A small patio area serves well for breakouts, and the property itself has been a film industry favorite for years, where everyone from Seth Rogan to Barbra Streisand has shot scenes.
