L.A. Tourism Opens Third China Office

L.A. Tourism officially opened its new Guangzhou office, its third in China, on October 12, 2015 after receiving approval from the China National Tourism Administration (CNTA). Guangzhou is the third largest hub in China and follows existing L.A. Tourism offices in Beijing and Shanghai. The opening of the Guangzhou office is strategically important as the Guangdong province is one of the main outbound travel markets in China – with nearly three million people looking to travel to an overseas destination. L.A. Tourism representative Selin Lin is responsible for L.A.’s promotion and marketing in South China and will report to China Regional Director Kate Chang. Los Angeles has had an extensive relationship with Guangzhou – going back to 1981 - when L.A. became a sister-city. The two cities will celebrate the 35th anniversary of this sister-city relationship in 2016.
