From London to China,  Latin America to NYC and across the Web, read on to be in the know on the latest activities and new developments at LA Tourism. 

The Today Show, Los Angeles, Feb. 11 – 22 – The LA Tourism Communication team worked with producers of the 4th Hour of The Today Show with Kathie Lee and Hoda to feature the destination for the 2 weeks leading up to the Academy Awards.  Show hosts and correspondents explored a different aspect of LA every day including outdoor adventure, shopping, dining, arts and culture, Hollywood, and popular attractions.  The show was taped at two locations, Santa Monica Place and Universal CityWalk. The two weeks of show coverage represented the equivalent of $2.5 million in advertising value.

Agent Kai New Year’s event, Los Angeles, Jan. 8 – LA Tourism updated key executives and decision-makers with LA’s Japanese receptive operators during this event.

PCMA, Orlando, Jan. 13-16 – LA Tourism Sales representatives attended this major industry networking and educational convention.

NTA’s Travel Exchange, Orlando, Jan. 20 -24 – LA Tourism representatives attended the annual National Tour Association (NTA) Conference in Orlando to pre-promote the show’s 2014 Conference in Los Angeles, Feb. 16 – 20.  NTA  is the leading business-building association for professionals serving customers traveling to, from and within North America.

Chicago Sales Mission, Jan. 21 -22 – LA Tourism Sales Representatives interacted directly with 104 existing and new customers during this two-day blitz of Chicago-area meeting planners.  Among the planners were several from high-profile medical associations and from third-party conference planning company Smith-Bucklin.

RCMA, Minneapolis, Jan. 29 – Feb. 1 – LA Tourism participated in this conference attended by 800 diverse religious organizations responsible for booking 14,000 events.

SmartMart, San Francisco, Jan. 30 – LA Tourism participated in this one-day event to network with dozens of planners with confirmed upcoming meetings needs.

Travel Trade FAMS, Los Angeles, Jan. – The LA Tourism International Marketing Team hosted five FAMS in January from China, Japan, Australia and Europe (2).
Sales Calls, Kaoshiung, Taiwan, Jan/Feb – As a follow-up to Taiwan’s new visa waiver status with the U.S., the LA Tourism China office conducted travel agency sales calls in this major city in south Taiwan.

Visit USA “Discover America,” Germany, Jan. & Feb. – LA Tourism’s German representative participated in three Visit USA travel trade events in Stuttgart Jan 12; Hamburg Feb 6; Munich Feb 20.

Visit USA Expo, Australia, February – LA Tourism’s Australia representatives participated in this annual series of travel trade shows in Perth, Feb. 13; Sydney, Feb. 18; Brisbane, Feb. 19; Sydney, and Melbourne, Feb. 20.

Routes Americas 2013, Cartagena, Colombia, Feb. 10-12 – LA Tourism representatives attended the 6th Routes Americas, the largest commercial aviation event for the entire Americas region as part of the ongoing effort to increase air support to Los Angeles.

MPI NCC Annual Conference & Expo, San Francisco, Feb. 21 – LA Tourism attended this top regional hospitality show.

AIME, Melbourne, Feb. 26 -27 – LA Tourism’s Australia representatives exhibited at the Asia-Pacific Incentives & Meetings Expo, the largest travel trade show in Australia.

Anato, Bogota, Colombia, Feb. 27 – March 1 –  LA Tourism International Marketing  attended this popular Latin America show to share what’s new in Los Angeles with attendees.

Smart Mart, Atlanta, Feb. 28 - LA Tourism participated in this one-day event to network with dozens of planners with confirmed upcoming meetings needs.

The Today Show, Australia, Feb. 25-28 – The LA Tourism Communication team worked with producers for the #1 morning show in Australia to showcase the destination the week following the Academy Awards.  The show went live from The Grove.

Individual Press Trips, UK, Feb. – The LA Tourism Communication team hosted three national UK journalists during the weeks leading up to the Academy Awards as part of an “Awards Season” themed pitch.

Rudy Maxa Travel Radio Show, National, March 1– LA Tourism worked with #1 nationally syndicated travel radio show host, Rudy Maxa, in-town for the LA Times Travel Show, to dedicate his March 1 hour-long broadcast to things to see and do in LA.  On-air guests discussed LA’s thriving arts and culture offerings, growing culinary scene, variety of attractions and ways to explore LA via biking or hiking.
