Gustavo Dudamel's Los Angeles
World-renowned conductor Gustavo Dudamel, Music Director of the Los Angeles Philharmonic, shares his favorite places to spend a day in L.A. when he leaves the stage.
Griffith Park
This is one of my favorite places to go walking with my family. It’s an ideal place to visit, especially with a new baby who is just becoming interested in the Travel Town Museum and all it has to offer plus the ponies and horses at the entrance to the park.
ArcLight Cinemas - Hollywood
My wife and I love going to the movies when I’m not conducting and our local theatre, the Arclight in Hollywood, has enough screens to ensure there is always something new for us to watch.
Amoeba Music
This is the most amazing record store that I love to browse in. You can find almost anything you want. It’s open really late so I can drop by after a great movie at Arclight next door.
Walt Disney Concert Hall at The Music Center
This is a very special place for me and where my Los Angeles Philharmonic family resides during the winter performance season. It is the living room for the city, where we come together to make and share music.
Hollywood Bowl
I conduct here every summer and love being in the audience myself on the nights I’m not up on stage.
Venice Beach
From walking on the beach to shopping at Abbot Kinney, we love visiting Venice. The world-famous Muscle Beach and the sunsets over the Southern California coastline add to its charm.
