dineL.A. Raises Over 13k for the Midnight Mission

The results are in and the donations are tallied! dineL.A., the popular biannual celebration of the city’s vibrant culinary scene, and OpenTable have announced a $13,651 donation for local charity The Midnight Mission, which was raised during the fourteen day period of Winter Restaurant Week (January 18th – 31st). For the first time in Restaurant Week history, Angelenos had the opportunity to give back to their local community by participating in dineL.A. Restaurant Week.

“We are thrilled to be able to make this donation to The Midnight Mission and support the pivotal work they do within the Los Angeles community,” says Stacey Sun, dineL.A. director. “Each year we strive to elevate our program and encourage guests to explore new neighborhoods, restaurants, and cuisines and with this particular partnership we were not only able to accomplish this, but also support our local community.”

This year, over 350 restaurants participated in dineL.A. Winter Restaurant Week, including the new Exclusive Series restaurants, offering diners a wide array of cuisines, locations, and price points. For every seated reservation made through the dineL.A. website, dineL.A. and OpenTable donated one dollar to the non-profit organization in order to support their overarching goals of providing food, shelter and essential aid to those experiencing homelessness.

“On behalf of the thousands of people we serve daily at The Midnight Mission, we thank dineL.A. for choosing The Midnight Mission as the charity to benefit from its 2016 Winter dineL.A. Restaurant Week,” says Larry Adamson, president & CEO, emeritus of The Midnight Mission. “The result of this incredible partnership, participating restaurants, and diners throughout L.A. County is a generous donation, which will provide nearly 14,000 nutritious meals to those who are most in need and depend on the life-saving and life-changing services of The Midnight Mission every day. We are grateful to OpenTable and dineL.A. for making this opportunity possible and for raising awareness of our organization’s goal, which is not only to feed people, but to restore them to self-sufficiency and combat the many issues surrounding homelessness.”
