Acclaimed chefs and restaurateurs are opening restaurants from Downtown L.A. to the Valley. Read on for ten of the most highly-anticipated restaurants opening this fall in Los Angeles.
Bäcoshop
Chef Josef Centeno (Bäco Mercat, Bar Ama, Orsa & Winston, Ledlow) is branching out from Downtown L.A.'s Historic Core to open Bäcoshop in Culver City. As the name suggests, Centeno's signature bäco sandwiches will star at the new location, which will be the realization of the original vision for Bäco Mercat - a straightforward sandwich takeout spot. Housed in the former Chop Daddy's space, Bäcoshop will add to a lively Downtown Culver City scene that includes Akasha, the Kirk Douglas Theatre and Sony Pictures Studios.

Brack Shop Tavern
Last Word Hospitality, the team behind the red-hot Thai concept, Same Same, is taking over the former Barrel Down gastropub on the bustling 7th Street Restaurant Row in Downtown L.A. Brack Shop Tavern will showcase craft cocktails along with a healthier seasonal focus to its bar bites. The interior will be designed by Ricki Kline, famed for his work with 213 Hospitality and Proprietors LLC (Normandie Club, The Walker Inn, The Varnish, Seven Grand).

Cosa Buona
Following his Silver Lake Italian restaurant, Alimento, Chef Zach Pollack is opening Cosa Buona in the former Pizza Buona space on Sunset Boulevard in Echo Park. During this summer's dineL.A. Restaurant Week, Pollack previewed Cosa Buona's menu with dishes like smoked mozzarella sticks with house made marinara dipping sauce, Sott'oli (pickled and fermented veggies, olives and salami), and egg tonnato with celery and anchovy.

Felix
According to the restaurant's website, Felix is Latin for "happy" or "lucky." Those words can certainly describe fans of Chef Evan Funke, who is taking over the Abbot Kinney space that housed Joe's, which closed in February after a 24-year run. Felix will showcase Funke's modern approach to Italian cuisine, featuring ingredients from "California's greatest family farms," wood-fired pizzas and his famed pasta fatta a mano (handmade pasta).

Friends & Family
Ever since husband-wife duo, Chef Daniel Mattern and pastry chef Roxana Jullapat, left the now-defunct Cooks County in December 2014, fans have eagerly awaited their return to the L.A. culinary scene. With a name like Friends & Family, there's sure to be a warm and communal vibe at Mattern and Jullapat's East Hollywood cafe and bakery, which will serve their acclaimed farmer's market-driven cuisine for breakfast and lunch.

Kismet
Sarah Hymanson and Sara Kramer, who earned widespread accolades for Madcapra, their falafel spot at Grand Central Market, are opening a standalone restaurant in the former Mother Dough space in Los Feliz. With support from another dynamic culinary duo, Jon Shook and Vinny Dotolo (Animal, Son of a Gun, Jon & Vinny's), Hymanson and Kramer will offer Middle Eastern shared plates and vegetable-focused mezze at Kismet.

Mr. Holmes Bakeshop
Beginning this fall, L.A. cruffin fans won't have to trek to San Francisco to get their fix. Owner Aaron Caddel is opening his third Mr. Holmes Bakeshop (following S.F. and Seoul) in an expansive Art Deco space in Highland Park. Besides the signature cruffin - a mashup of a croissant and a muffin - look for other items like daily filled donuts, a variety of danishes and ube puff pastries.

Ramen Room
Chef Andre Guerrero (The Oinkster, Maximiliano) is opening Ramen Room in the former Brats Brothers space on Ventura Boulevard in Sherman Oaks. The Ramen Room Instagram feed has been sharing sneak peeks of dishes like spicy miso ramen with a Jimmy Nardello pepper; crispy rice cake with ahi, seaweed, radish and masago; a Filipino inspired bowl with rice noodles, poached chicken, chicken cracklings, ginger, fish sauce, green papaya, cilantro and scallions; and a smoked salmon roll with masago. Guerrero has shared a favorite culinary pairing, shio ramen with Kikusui Junmai Ginjo Sake.

Rosaliné
This fall, the dormant Comme Ça space will be reborn as Rosaliné, which marks the long awaited return of Chef Ricardo Zarate to the Los Angeles dining scene. Named for Zarate's mother, Rosaliné will showcase the modern Peruvian cuisine that garnered praise at Picca and the now-closed Paiche and Mo-Chica.

Tinfoil Liquor & Grocery
Nightlife impresario Jeremy Fall (Nighthawk: Breakfast Bar, Genesis, Golden Box) is opening Tinfoil Liquor & Grocery at Figueroa Street and Avenue 59, just steps from Highland Park Bowl and the upcoming Mr. Holmes Bakeshop. Inspired by a traditional New York bodega, Fall is renovating the longtime neighborhood liquor store - the iconic "Coldest Beer In Town" neon sign will be restored - and upgrading the offerings to include L.A. purveyors, local breweries, artisanal wine and craft spirits.
There will also be a speakeasy-esque sandwich shop tucked away in the back. A collaboration with Alvin Cailan of Eggslut, the sandwich shop follows the duo's recent opening of Easy's, a lunchtime burger joint at Unit 120, Cailan's kitchen incubator in Chinatown.
