On Monday, July 4, restaurants and hotels across Los Angeles are offering lavish meals for Independence Day. Read on for the best Independence Day specials because everyone deserves a great celebration. All meals are scheduled on July 4 unless otherwise noted.
Horse Thief BBQ
July 4 marks Horse Thief BBQ’s third-year anniversary at Grand Central Market in Downtown Los Angeles. As a result, Horse Thief BBQ offers a number of special treats for diners throughout the day. As an honor of the restaurant’s Texan heritage, sip a pint of Shiner Bock or Shiner White Wing and then be treated to a Shiner pint glass or a hat. From 5 p.m. - 7 p.m., devour pork or brisket tacos, topped with pickled onions, sour cream, spicy barbecue sauce and jalapenos. Then, starting at 7 p.m., enjoy a DJ spinning an all vinyl mix of classic rock, everything from current favorites to genres in-between.

Salt's Cure
Enjoy brunch on the July 4 weekend at Salt’s Cure. First, celebrate with an all-star breakfast and a Bloody Mary. Then wash your meal down with complimentary Budweiser beer. The restaurant features on Sunday a prix fixe dinner whose dishes are made of the finest farmer’s market ingredients. Try a soup and salad to start. Next is a selection of entrees. There’s a choice of everything from wild mushrooms and arugula pesto to fresh fish, from a select cut of meat from the in-house butcher to an array of desserts. The prix fixe dinner is available for $35.

Tart at Farmer's Daughter Hotel
Tart, nestled in the iconic Farmer’s Daughter Hotel amid the bustling and historic Fairfax District, delivers comfort food with a twist by drawing on influences from Southern cuisine, British pub fare and a diverse melting pot of flavors, all created using French technique. Now Tart unveils a “Wing Warrior” competition starting Friday, July 1 to kick off the Independence Day weekend. The “Wing Warrior” challenge costs $8 and includes five wings drenched in hot sauces. To top it off, guests who finish all the wings in five minutes without drinking anything don’t have to pay anything. They’ll also receive half off one entrée.

Burgers and beer can’t get any better on July 4 at Pono Burger. This Santa Monica restaurant offers burgers paired with beer for only $18. Try the ‘Alekina Burger with chimichurri sauce, organic avocado, chorizo and an organic sweet potato nest with the Pranqster Golden Ale. Venice Beach’s Dudley Market on July 4 offers brunch with soft shell crab omelet and chicken liver mousse on toast with duck eggs, as well as blueberry pancakes with lemon curd. Pick up a few sandwiches for the beach. A favorite is the one stacked with salami, peppers, arugula and Italian dressing. Another is the crab sandwich nestled with sprouts, bacon, avocado and lettuce, drenched with house made green goddess dressing. There’s also perfect chance on July 4 to try Chef Jesse Barber's seasonal urban rustic menu, whose dishes are imbued with the finest seasonal ingredients. Some of the highlights are wild Oregon salmon with purslane pickled fennel, cherries, egg and an olive emulsion; braised short rib with fresh corn polenta and eggplant; and soft shell crab with squash and avocado on a citrus puree.

The Hook & Plow
The Hook & Plow of Hermosa Beach opens for brunch on July 4, when you can grab a bite before hitting the beach. The restaurant serves five dishes from Chef Alejandro Arrieta's weekend brunch menu: the short rib man hash with slow braised short rib, onion jam, rosemary potatoes and a sunny egg on top; a burrito with organic eggs, applewood smoked bacon, rosemary potatoes, avocado and onion jam; a Greek yogurt granola bowl; a breakfast sandwich on brioche toast; and the Hermosa classic with organic eggs any style, brioche toast, applewood smoked bacon, rosemary potatoes and macerated berries. Along with its popular champagne juice, the Hook & Plow serves a Hermosa Sparkler, made of prosecco with fresh blueberries and garnished with a watermelon star.
