Brandon Boyd's Los Angeles
Brandon Boyd is a musician, visual artist, and native Californian. As the front man for the rock band Incubus, he has traveled all over the world, but calls Venice Beach his home. Brandon's upcoming projects include a solo project under the name "Sons of the Sea," and his third art book entitled "So The Echo." Check out his favorite spots to chow down, have fun and get outdoors.
Santa Monica Pier
It's a place of deep nostalgia and kitsch; I've always loved the roller coasters, screams and laughing as the soundtrack and smell of the ocean air.
Cafe Gratitude Venice
Delicious vegan food prepared with loving intention and more hugs than you'd know what to do with. Amazing desserts and lots of smiling.
Rose Bowl Flea Market
I'm a sucker for antiques and vintage, and this is the mecca of used goods. Go early and bring a hat!
Malibu Creek State Park
I grew up hiking here and still love it to this day. Stunning scenery and a cool history; the original Tarzan was filmed here as well as the show "Mash." Bring a bag to take your trash out of the park with you!
Shambala Big Cat Reserve
Incubus' non-profit, the Make Yourself Foundation, awarded a grant to Shambala many years ago and we were blessed to visit this magical place just outside of L.A. They rescue and take care of big cats that were born in captivity who need a safe haven to live and thrive. Some of the many amazing animals that live there are lions, tigers, panthers, pumas and even a liger. Yes, a liger. Shambala was started and run by actress Tippi Hedren.
