The week after the Rose Bowl game, Rose Bowl Stadium hosts the 2014 BCS National Championship Game on Monday, Jan. 6, 2014. The top-ranked Florida State Seminoles face off against the No. 2 Auburn Tigers in the 16th and final BCS National Championship Game. Beginning with the 2014-15 season, the College Football Playoff replaces the BCS with a four-team playoff series. On Sunday, March 9, 2014, thousands of runners will navigate their way from Downtown LA to Santa Monica in the 29th annual LA Marathon. The 2014 LA Marathon will be the fifth running of the iconic “Stadium to the Sea” course, which takes runners from Dodger Stadium to the Pacific Ocean. Runners will pass many of LA’s world‐famous landmarks along the way, including Walt Disney Concert Hall, TCL Chinese Theatre, the Sunset Strip, Rodeo Drive and the Santa Monica Pier.

On Aug. 8-10, 2014, the Nike Basketball 3ON3 Tournament returns to the streets of L.A. LIVE in Downtown. Nike 3ON3 features three fun-filled days of basketball, entertainment, food, giveaways and more. All skill levels are invited to compete in the tournament, from “ballers” in the Adult Elite Division to Youth, Wheelchair and Special Olympics divisions. The Nike Basketball 3ON3 Tournament has grown to become one of the largest 3ON3 street basketball tournaments and fan fests in Los Angeles. Annual participation in the tournament exceeds 1,200 teams, 4,500 players and 25,000 spectators, with participants and spectators coming from all over the country.

Heading into its 54th year, the Manhattan Beach Open is the longest running, continuous tournament in beach volleyball. Every summer, the most talented men and women in the sport convene on the golden sand to compete for a share of the $200,000 prize purse and to have their names enshrined on the historic Manhattan Beach Pier. An official stop of the AVP tour, the Manhattan Beach Open offers a full weekend of world class beach volleyball and fun that has the coastal community, beach volleyball enthusiasts and beach lovers alike participating in an entire weekend of sun filled activities. The Manhattan Beach Open is a free event and takes place just south of the pier. The August 2014 dates are TBA.

One of the most intense rivalries in all of college sports is renewed once again when the USC Trojans face off against the UCLA Bruins at Rose Bowl Stadium in Pasadena. The storied rivalry includes some of the greatest college football players in history, and one of the all-time great football games, the 1967 “Game of the Century,” when No. 4 USC defeated No. 1 UCLA 21-20 and went on to win the National Championship. UCLA currently owns city bragging rights, defeating its crosstown rival in 2012 and 2013. USC leads the overall series, 44-30-7. The November 2014 date is TBA.
