The Amgen Tour of California is a Tour de France-style cycling road race created and presented by AEG that challenges the world’s top professional cycling teams to compete along a demanding course that traverses hundreds of miles of California’s iconic highways, byways, mountains and coastlines each spring. The eight-part race, which goes from May 11-18, 2014, will complete its final three stages in southern California, including a scenic loop through the city of Pasadena that's filled with historical sights and iconic architecture. Spectators can choose to make it a fun and relaxing day at the lifestyle festivals at the end of each stage, or go the luxury route with VIP packages available for the race finish in Thousand Oaks.

Stage 7: Pasadena

Perhaps the most scenic part of the Los Angeles leg of the race will be Stage 7, which ends in the city of Pasadena after a race down from the Angeles National Forest, past the iconic Mount Wilson Observatory and through the small town of La Canada Flintridge. As they ride, cyclists will have a chance to glimpse the landmark Rose Bowl Stadium, race across the Colorado Street Bridge and finally take a three-mile cruise along Colorado Boulevard, the same route taken every January 1 by countless Rose Parade participants for over 100 years. Finally, the teams will conclude Stage 7 on the steps of Pasadena City Hall. This will mark the third time Pasadena has hosted a leg of the Amgen Tour.

Lifestyle Festival

The Lifestyle Festival will be the go-to spot for cycling fans. Located near the finish line at each stage, it's the meeting spot for the cycling teams as well as excited spectators, and vendors. The festival will feature cycling vendors, cancer awareness education, family activities, food, entertainment and more. Southern Californians can find it at the end of stages 6, 7 and 8 in Mountain High, Pasadena and Thousand Oaks, respectively. Information on vendors and activities coming soon.

VIP Hospitality

The best way to watch the Amgen Tour of California just might be the VIP Hospitality area. Located at a perfect spot near the finish line in Thousand Oaks, guests will enjoy catered meals served right near the announcer’s and awards stage, and will be able to watch the race live on flat-screen TV's along with the dynamic Tour Tracker. Head to the event website for ticket and group package information.
