My LA to Z: Tony Bennett
Interviewed by Chris Nichols
The legendary crooner shares the top spots that keep him in harmony with L.A.
They named a suite after me and it's tremendous. I was very honored, and they always treat me very well. It has beautiful sundecks, so all day long you can take some sun. They have a gorgeous rooftop swimming pool, and private suites on top. The menu is great, and they're very nice.
Rodeo Drive
It is so beautiful. The shops are so expensive and as a result, the architecture of the different stores is fantastic to look at. It's like nowhere else - the most glamorous row in the world. I love to promenade when I walk down that street.
Capitol Records
I love recording at the studios of Capital Records. I was there with artists doing my hits and it felt so good knowing that Sinatra, Dean Martin, and Nat King Cole - who built the building with his record sales - all recorded there.
The Getty Museum, Los Angeles
Just to see a Rembrandt is a great experience. You could just look at that, turn around and walk out and you get such knowledge of beauty. I love the whole atmosphere up there on the hill.
