I normally have a 45 minute limit in most museums, so the Hammer in Westwood usually suits me perfectly. And the café is a lovely option when I don't have my heart set on Persian food up on Westwood Blvd.
Mark Taper Forum
There really isn't a bad seat in the house at the Mark Taper Forum, and I love to see plays there as often as I can. The downtown restaurant scene is so dynamic that it's hard to choose - but I always end up at mine! Border Grill's limo shuttle service makes me feel special.
Los Angeles County Museum Of Art (LACMA)
LACMA is situated in the heart of the city, set in a gorgeous park, and with the recent additions you can't beat it for an enjoyable afternoon. We usually top off the evening with a delicious sampling of Ethiopian dishes on Fairfax.
