Mario Lopez's Los Angeles
Mario Lopez - actor, author and host of Extra - shares his favorite places in Los Angeles to sip a cocktail, listen to mariachi, and channel his inner Rocky Balboa in the boxing ring.
Universal Studios Hollywood
We shoot EXTRA at Universal CityWalk and I also tape my nationally syndicated radio show "On with Mario" here. It's the entertainment capital of L.A.!
The Grove
It's my Disneyland! Great restaurants, shopping and movies, and the Farmers Market is right next door.
The Americana at Brand
It's sort of like the Grove 2.0, a little more geographically convenient for me and my family. The Mariachi brunch at Frida's on Sunday is our tradition, and we love the Katsuya sushi restaurant next door! Not to mention the variety of shops and movie theaters that are on campus.
Saint Robert Bellarmine Church
Old quaint little church in Burbank that I started going to when I first arrived in L.A., and I'm still a part of the parish.
Wild Card Boxing Club
Best boxing gym in the world, where I happen to train, with an old school gritty feel and my friend Freddie Roach running the place, full of colorful characters. Classic spot!
Los Angeles Zoo & Botanical Gardens
My family and I have annual family passes. We're all big animal lovers. My daughter loves to go. It's a great workout walking around checking out the animals.
Staples Center
Get to see my beloved Lakers and world championship boxing all in one place. Downtown L.A. is growing and getting a cooler vibe.
My girl Eva Longoria's restaurant. It's upscale Mexican cuisine with a nightclub atmosphere, with one of the best adult beverages ever, "Tequila Spa."
Mariscos Mi Lindo Sinaloa
Authentic Mexican seafood located in Glendale. The food is delicious... it makes me feel like I'm in Chula Vista. The mariachis and tequila are always present!
El Floridita Restaurant
Great authentic Cuban food. Hole in the wall place located on Vine Street in Hollywood with salsa dancing to a live band on Monday nights.
Zuma Beach
In the summertime, I get my surf kick in and get to hit some amazing waves and appreciate why I live in Southern California.
