Forbes Travel Guide Five-Star Los Angeles Hotels
Updated on November 18, 2014
Forbes Travel Guide has released its 56th Annual Star Ratings list. The 2014 worldwide list of hotels, spas and restaurants includes 97 Five-Star hotels, the most in the guide’s history. Formerly the Mobil Travel Guide, the Forbes Travel Guide created its 5-star rating system in 1958. The guide’s in-depth hotel inspections span two nights and three days. Each property is rated according to 800 objective criteria, with an emphasis on service. Following are the Los Angeles hotels that earned the coveted Five-Star rating.
The Beverly Hills Hotel And Bungalows
Generations of the rich and famous have stayed at the Beverly Hills Hotel & Bungalows, the iconic “Pink Palace” located on Sunset Boulevard. The hotel’s renowned Polo Lounge is a classic Hollywood watering hole and a quintessential LA power lunch spot. According to the Forbes Travel Guide, "While celebrities love the hotel for its luscious private bungalows (perfect for canoodling and doing whatever else stars do), the rest of us love the tropical gardens (gorgeous) and the retro-style pool (so movie-star chic)."

Four Seasons Hotel Los Angeles at Beverly Hills
Tucked away in a quiet residential neighborhood near Beverly Hills and West Hollywood, the Four Seasons Los Angeles at Beverly Hills is a new addition to the 2014 list of Five-Star rated hotels. From the guide: “One of the great things about this beautiful hotel is its location. Not only are you in ritzy Beverly Hills, but you’re also a quick jaunt away from stellar shopping on Rodeo Drive and Robertson Boulevard (bring your credit card and an extra suitcase). Thanks to its fantastic location, locals are regulars at the modern Italian restaurant, Culina, and the lobby level bar, Windows Lounge.”
