Santa Monica Beach
Rent a bike near the pier and then cruise up to Malibu or down to Venice Beach. It's a lovely wide path, even if you're not the most coordinated rider.
Griffith Observatory
For the second best view in LA -- the first is from the Getty Museum -- this is an amazing building that houses a really cool museum and Tesla machine.
Meltdown Comics
For lovers of comics, this is a mecca. They also have lectures and shows in the back Nerdist Lounge on occasion, so sometimes you can go to shop and laugh.
Runyon Canyon Park
The natives take this very steep jaunt to work out, but it's a great place to people watch. Take lots of water!
Lamill Coffee
The best way to see LA is to DRIVE LA. Why not plan around coffee? Start at Intelligentsia in Venice, go to Paper and Plastik in Mid-City, then to Coffee Commissary near Sunset, to LAMILL in Silver Lake, and finish at Coffee Bar downtown. Actually, that might give people heart attacks. 3/5 of those will do.
Game Dude
Deep in the Valley there is a big store with every retro console, every used game on every gaming system you'd want. For a few hundred bucks you can get a classic Sega system and dozens of games. I mean...bingo.
Hollywood Pantages Theatre
The Pantages Theater is a breathtaking space that takes you back to the deco LA period. Definitely worth the price of admission, AND you get to go see a show! Thai Town is very close, so get some of the best Pad Thai in the nation before or after.
Felicia Day is a professional actress who has appeared in numerous mainstream television shows and films, most recently guest starring on the CW show "Supernatural", and completing a two-season arc on the SyFy series “Eureka.” However, Felicia is best known for her work in the web video world, behind and in front of the camera. She co-starred in Joss Whedon’s Internet musical “Dr. Horrible’s Sing- Along Blog.” She also created and stars in the hit web series “The Guild,” which is currently in its sixth season of production. Her new company, Geek & Sundry is currently producing a slate of seven shows, including "The Flog" which is hosted by Felicia. The new channel, called “Geek and Sundry” is part of YouTube’s new premium content initiative. Since launching in April 2012, the channel has garnered over 300,000 subscribers and 18 million views.
